Via La Selva Residence
This Mid Century Modern, post and beam single family residence, originally designed by Wong and Wong Architects, has remained in the same family since it was initially commissioned in 1959. Now passed down to the children who grew up in the home, the project consists of a refresh to the weathered exterior along with partially reorganizing and updating the interior. Weathered framing was replaced, energy efficient glass replaced all the existing plate glass, the kitchen and family rooms traded places to provide better access to the existing courtyard, the primary suite, including the bathroom, was renovated, and new glass guard rails replaced the existing glass rails on the front deck. All improvements made were intended to maintain the same aesthetic as initially conceived when the house was constructed in 1959.
